What a great day! Perfect weather all day and good number of people showed up! The focus of the day was to compete in a series of events, either individually or in small groups. At one point we had a talent show. Amazing! The event took place at San Gregorio Beach just north of the public beach. No one bothered us.
On-camera: too many to list!

Beach Fest 2009
video-1 5:37 What a perfect day for a beach festival. People arrive, greet, and prepare for the the exciting day ahead.
video-2 7:18 Participants continue to arrive, socialize, prepare their performances and enjoy the liberating environment.
video-3 5:08 We kick off with a race where contestants remove and put back on clothing while running across the beach.
video-4 7:25 Next we have a contest where groups create different body arrangements. Some of these looked quite challenging!
video-5 5:15 The body sculptures were judged for their unique and inventive arrangements. It's cool what people come up with.
video-6 5:50 It's another hilarious race, one that does not allow running nor walking. How fast can you go, crawling, rolling, or...?
video-7 6:20 First we rest for a while. Then we move into the performance section of the day with a show of some acro-balance!
video-8 5:23 Next up we have couple showing a contact dance routine. Then another limber couple each perform a solo routine.
video-9 6:05 We continue with Latin dance moves, then juggling and basket ball spinning, followed by a guitar performance.
video-10 7:10 Four groups compete to make the best costume using natural looking materials mostly found at the beach.
video-11 6:50 Our final video covers the awards presentation, then the group photo next to the fabulous sand castle.
nomad-notes
There were 3 video cameras running that day and two were on tripods and were just pointed in some direction and then left running - once in a while someone would change the angle and position. One camera was hand-held and randomly roamed around. Editing the raw video was difficult because I had to first line up the many segments with each other to match time. Then I had to take the 4 hours of video and pare it down. There's now a total of 68 minutes of video here. I tried not to let it get too boring :-)
