Nomad's Notes
The main thing I'd like to point out is that I purposely did not make a big effort to avoid seeing beyond the end of the black paper nor did I pursue other measures toward perfection of lighting and position. I want the viewer to know that we are in a studio and I like the feeling of reality and sponteneity. You might notice that the lighting on their bodies is somewhat different in the video from the still photos. This is because the light in the photos comes from strobe lights that flash very briefly and brightly from specific locations, whereas the video camera sees the ambient continuous lights in the room, which were too dark for the still camera settings to have any affect on those images. The video camera was static with no one to adjust it, so sometimes the subjects are partly outside the frame. The couple split up within months of this shoot. I did see Catherine once more, some years later, to do a solo studio shoot... not yet added to this website.
