It is warm enough in the California winter desert to experience the pleasures of clothes-free exploring. This small group scouted a trail we will use again with a bigger group at a later date. There were parking spots next to the highway, then a short walk around the first bend to naked freedom! No one else was on the trail that day. On-camera: Amber, Auto, Dusty, Cody, Ron

nomad-notes
So far, most outings have been in the San Francisco area. This one was a couple hours west of Los Angeles. The main trip was a shoot at the Seamountain Inn (photos appear as another event) which was only in the morning.
A few of the people agreed to a hike in the afternoon in an area called the Mecca Hills, not too far away. Our guide was Ron, who I had made contact with through a naked hiking website. The third gallery with Auto and Amber was actually shot the day before. I had tried to organize a group to go to Deep Creek Hot Springs. I could only get 2 couples to sign up in the time I had, and one was a no-show. We decided to go anyway but as we got to the Bowen Ranch entrance to the trail the weather was turning treacherous.
So we just drove on a couple hours to the town of Desert Hot Springs and found this little valley to shoot in. So it became a shoot with just the two of them. Every outing is a good learning experience. Though the number of people in this sequence is less than I really want, it still was worthwhile. For these kind of outings I went on to aim for groups around 10-13 people including myself and maybe 2 other photographers.
